Donations are graciously accepted and are extremely important to us!

Only 10% of our support comes from the governmentWe do not receive federal or provincial government or health region funding. While we charge sliding-scale fees (most times), we use all our revenues to subsidize clients who are unable to afford our services.

The need is great. As older adults (55+), seniors and physically challenged individuals age, tidying their homes, doing laundry, and caring for their yards in summer and winter becomes difficult. Sadly, in Saskatoon a surprisingly large number find that they cannot afford our modest fees for services that allow them to stay in their own homes and age safely and successfully.  They are managing on tight budgets trying to juggle rising rent, food and medication costs.  Moving into a new space is simply too expensive and, in reality, doesn’t make sense when their current home is perfectly fine and all they need is a little help. These individuals are typically senior women or physically challenged individuals. They represent approximately 2,000 individuals in our community.  They may come from a generation who did not work outside the home; they may have no family; they may have worked in lower wage careers; or, due to ability, they have never worked.  Most importantly, they are our neighbours and sometimes, even our friends.

We need YOUR support. Our community has a role to play in caring for the generations who have come before. Let’s remember the hard-won accomplishments our seniors have made and how they have improved our workplaces and communities throughout their lives. Their desire to build a better society for future generations, and their achievements, have helped create a society where we are better able to care for one another. Now we need to look out for them.
